Fun Halloween Cocktails

Memorable Halloween Cocktails

Put your Halloween Party over the top (where every great party belongs) with a few creepy, glowing, or seasonal-tasting cocktails. Don’t forget fun garnishes for visual pop. A few to try: stick gummy candies such as worms or eyeballs on a skewer, hang plastic toys such as spiders, scorpions, or vampire teeth from the rim. If you won’t have a bartender, you may want to choose just one or two signature cocktails and print out simple versions of the recipes so guests can assemble their own fantastic creations.

How to prepare “bloody” rims for your glasses

Although raspberry jam or sauce will work okay for this, consider the impact of this high-end effect, which can also be prepared ahead of time.

Ingredients

1 c. Sugar

1/2 c. Karo Syrup

1/2 c. Water

Red Food Coloring

Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup and water. Heat over low flame in a heavy duty pot, stirring continuously until the mixture reaches a stiff consistency (roughly 300 degrees so be careful!). Add food coloring and reduce the flame to very low.

While the mixture is still hot, carefully dip the rim of your cocktail glass into the liquid. The candy will drip creating a blood-like effect on the glass. (Recipe from singlemindedwomen.com)
